"What did he actually say about Greenland?" is a question people ask all the time. Until now you answered it on MentionsHero by opening a speaker page and searching. Now you can ask Claude, and Claude searches the archive for you.
The MentionsHero MCP server is a free, public endpoint that speaks the Model Context Protocol, the standard way for AI assistants to use outside tools. Connect it once, and Claude can search the archive, count mentions and compare speakers. Each answer quotes the transcript and links to it.
Connect in one step
The server URL is https://mentionshero.com/api/mcp. It needs no account and no API key.
- Claude on the web or desktop: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the URL.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http mentionshero https://mentionshero.com/api/mcp - Other clients, such as Cursor, and the Claude API: see the setup page.
What it can answer
The figures below are what the server returns today. They cover the archive up to early September 2026: 167 transcripts, 161 of them with Donald Trump speaking.
When did a topic start? Trump's first mention of Greenland in the archive is on 22 December 2025, at an announcement with the Secretary of War and the Secretary of the Navy: "We need Greenland for national protection." He mentions it 29 times across 5 transcripts, and 22 of those mentions are in January 2026.
How often does it come up? "Tariff" is a constant: Trump says it 598 times, in 87 of his 161 transcripts. Venezuela is a spike: 407 mentions in total, and 182 of them in January 2026 alone, a month with 15 Trump transcripts. Iran comes up in 92 of his transcripts, and it peaks in March 2026 with 153 mentions.
Who says it, and who does not? Ask about "AI / Artificial Intelligence" and the server counts either form, the same way Kalshi words its mention markets. Trump uses one of them in 32% of his transcripts (52 of 161). JD Vance uses one in 1 of his 16. Marco Rubio has not said either in any of his 14.
How the counting works
The server uses the same matcher as the transcript pages, so the numbers agree with what you see on the site:
- A mention is the whole word, its plural or its possessive. "Tariff" finds "tariffs" but not "tariffed".
- An acronym typed in capitals matches only in capitals, so "ICE" never matches "ice".
- When you name a speaker, only that person's own words count. A reporter's question that contains the word does not.
- Dates are YouTube upload dates, which can be a day after the event.
A zero means the word is not in this archive. It does not prove the person never said it: the archive holds the transcripts we have published, not every appearance.
Who it is for
Traders who price mention markets want a base rate: in how many of a speaker's appearances does a word come up? Journalists want the exact quote and the date. Researchers want a count per month. You can now ask for any of these in plain language, inside the assistant you already use.
Set it up on the MCP page, or browse the transcripts directly.
